#3734 Possible datafile issue with Alfar (crit placement)
Ever since the AL-A1 Alfar turned up in MegaMek, I've been a bit disappointed that the "canon" version apparently has nothing in its right side torso to soak up a critical hit. However, lacking an official record sheet myself (and with the TRO-style writeup in Reunification Wars traditionally not saying) I've quietly taken that as gospel...
...until just today I looked at the same 'Mech as included with Solaris SkunkWerks and noticed that that version does in fact seem to differ slightly in structural and heat sink crit placement, most notably putting the heat sinks the MegaMek .mtf file places in the arms into the respective side torsos instead.
I still don't have that official record sheet, but I'd be grateful if somebody who did could resolve the issue. Even if that just means closing this ticket as invalid if the MegaMek Alfar turns out to be the correct one after all. :)
I've seen comments on the forums about the lack of Record sheets. I think I made that one originally, If that was me building it, it was probably me not paying attention and just making things fit. I can "re-engineer" it until we get a proper sheet.
According to the MUL, there isn't an official record sheet for the Alfar yet. Neither the one included in MM or in SSW is officially canon yet.
