If you open a file with a name that contains anything but standard english characters (not Chinese or any UTF16 exotic stuff, we're talking about simple Umlauts here that are even in ISO8859-1: äöüß (Germany) øåæ (scandinavia)) in the MacOS X GUI, Mediainfo displays nothing. Apparently there was a similar bug in the Windows GUI which seems to be fixed now according to the bugtracker, but in the MacOS GUI it remains.
