Hello,

I using MediaInfo x64 on my Windows XP x64 SP2 and noticed that the feature "Shell Info Tip" does not work!

Already disabled and enabled several times the option in the setup, but without success. The last working MediaInfo with ShellInfoTip was the version 0.7.35 x86 on my Windows XP x64 SP2 system.

So I decided to use always the latest x64 and the 0.7.35 x86 version only for ShellInfoTip feature!

I did already some tests and here are the results to fix the problem:

MediaInfo 0.7.35 x86 creating the RegKey:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{869C14C8-1830-491F-B575-5F9AB40D2B42}\InprocServer32]
@="\"c:\\Programme\\MediaInfoGUI0735x86\\MediaInfo_InfoTip.dll\""

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{869C14C8-1830-491F-B575-5F9AB40D2B42}\InprocServer32]
@="\"c:\\Programme\\MediaInfoGUI0735x86\\MediaInfo_InfoTip.dll\""

After that the ShellInfoTip works fine!

----------

The later versions of MediaInfo e.g. 0.7.42 x86 creating only the RegKey:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{869C14C8-1830-491F-B575-5F9AB40D2B42}\InprocServer32]
@="\"c:\\Programme\\MediaInfoGUI0742x86\\MediaInfo_InfoTip.dll\""

With that only ShellInfoTip does not work!

The solution for that is to adjust manually always the RegKey from MeidaInfo 0.7.35 x86 to the path of the latest MediaInfo x86 version.

Of course it would be better if the MediaInfo x64 works direct on my Windows XP x64 SP2 with ShellInfoTip feature!

Could you please check the ShellInfoTip feature and fix the problem?

Thanks for this great program!

Regards,
Jack

Will be corrected/available in the next official version.

You can also test the lastest development snapshot in the "development snapshots" part of the downloads:

I tested with Win7 x64, this works well. I am on travel, so no WinXP access. I will test it only in 2 weeks.
