Hello,
Upon launching the program I'm getting an access violation error (see attached screenshot).
When I close the error message, the program seems to remain active, but with certainly glitches in the UI. E.g. the yellow "Donate" buttons (in various languages) remain on top of the window, and if I open a media file, they cover much of the media info on the screen.

Try crash portable MediaInfo_GUI.exe + code guard

I tried that version and I get the same error.
FYI, I started getting this error only in the past few months. I tried an older version v17.12, which never gave me any errors in the past, but now it also gives me the same error. This makes me think that a recent Windows update may be causing this, or something else.

I don't know how to generate a crash log file. Please provide instructions.

Even with latest MediaInfo (18.12) and ffmpeg this crashes on Win 7 x64. Tried Compatibility mode "Win 7/Vista...etc" and the Exception changes to Couldn't get data for ' ' . There are no crash log files in Windows.

I am having the exact same problem but the access violation address is slightly different.

    Mediainfo x64 19.9.0.0
    Windows 10.0.18362.356 (1903)
    I've found a file ntdll.dll in C:\windows\system32
File version is the same as the OS version, with a date of 9/14/2019

The error message appears via start menu or when ran from within Explorer. Doesn't matter if program is executed as administrator or not.

    Hello, Ihave the same problem...
By starting MediaInfo by right clicking on a multimedia file, I have an error window (Capture-Error.png).
I am under windows 10 pro x64, the version of mediainfo is 19.09.
By dragging and dropping the file on the mediainfo window the file information is displayed correctly, except that the yellow buttons remain on the screen!
Moreover, in the menu bar there is a new button Tektronix Website, idem in the icons on the left (Capture-Bad.png), and impossible to put the program in French: by clicking on Language, it appears only one line: "ToDo..."
I have uninstalled the program and then reinstalled it but nothing changes.
I installed this same program downloaded previously on another PC also under windows 10 x64, but here everything works correctly (Capture.png).
I launched AdwCleaner from Malwarebytes, but that does not correct the problem. The file ntdll.dll of \windows\systeme32 has its digital signature and does not seem to be in question: what to do?

The same problem. Windows 10 pro x64, MediaInfo 19.09.
Access violation at address 770480C6 in module 'ntdll.dll'. Write of address 00641E78.
Launched as Administrator -> same error.
sfc /scannow -> "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
Virus & threat protection -> no threat found.
Is it really not possible to find out the root cause of this issue?

I too am suffering from this same situation, I do not understand what happened, I was using an older version of Mediainfo .0.7.67 (it ran without issue), updated to the current version 21.03 & now I have the same access violation that is causing issue for others. Dumped the entire program, cleaned out the registry & tried again to no avail. Repeated the dump, this time I tried an older version, but I find that NOTHING newer than .07.69 will install & run properly. ......... op/sys is Win7 64 bit. what's the problem?..........and no one of the developers of the program has responded in all this time?

I just wanted to drop a note to say that it's working for me on my Win 10 x64 with latest updates (ver. 21H1, build 19043.1083)
I feel that maybe the app has a hidden requirement, like a driver or some such, which some users don't have.
