Everytime I scan for new TV episodes it says at least 4 episodes found, so if I added 2 it would say 6. There are no errors as I have the show log on error enabled. How do I work out what it is finding and why it fails to process them.

I don't know where the log is but it should log somewhere and I should be able to display the last log with Tools[or Help]-> Show Log

When MC displays error the log is very hard to read, I'd suggest blank lines and/or very visible separators be used to aid in its understanding / readability.

In TV Preferences, General/Scraper tab, check the option Display Log after scraping Series/Episodes
When this appears after searching, ensure at bottom of display window, is set to Full not brief.

MC does not have a debug log, or save a log file.

And it is a mistake that it doesn't, it would be no more work for it to do so as you already do so optionally.. I tried unticking show on error as there was no show on OK option anywhere near it but of course that didn't work either. Just generate it get rid of the show always option, keep the show on error and have a show log option.

Anyway looks like no matter what this is a MC bug as it is failing but not showing the log when the option to show it on error is set, it logged:

      Detected : Season : -1 Episode : -1
WARNING: Can't extract Season and Episode details from this filename, file not added!

Your more than welcome to code in debug logging, but it is a larger task than you think.

Seems that section of log should be telling you what the file is. I will check and get MC to also output the filename so users can investigate.

Just checked, and it should have said before
    Detected: Season :-1 etc
    the following
    With File : videofilepath

Can you copy and paste the log after a search for new episodes.

Also, if this is not working properly, please try a new clean instance of MC. Possibly a old setting has caused a glitch.

      Hi,

Just to clarify, the fact that it could not determine the episode and
season that was the problem, I've already fixed that, it was that the log
was not appearing to tell me what the issue was.

      Thanks
      Dennis
