Hi,
I just updated to MC v3.7.5.6 on Windows 11.
While adding a new program, if an error occurs (not just the one below), then the show is still added to the "List of Series Folders" meaning that you have to remove it to retry. It should be removed automatically on error or it shouldn't say it's a duplicate when adding given that no nfo files etc exist.
Where is the log file so I can look for it in future via explorer?
ALSO, both yesterday and today I'm getting the error, is there a known problem with TVDB?

* To disable seeing this, turn off General Preferences -'Show log on error'. *

Initializing TVDb...!!! Error - Running action [Scrape TVDb Series Main Body] threw [Unable to connect to the remote server]
No Issue scraping from TVDb, suspect it was a TVDb issue not Media Companion
As for adding a series, if the MC errors on scraping a series, you can use F5 (Refresh) and /or F7 to look for a new series that is in the 'List of Series Folders' but not scraped.
Its still failing. I've tried v1 and v2 both fail, which are we supposed to use these days? I've gone back to the previous version same error, but why would it fail for me and not you?
Well, I do not have Windows 11, so there could be issues in security, or Dot Net, that are causing this to have problems.
You could try changing compatibility to Windows 7, or try install Dot Net 4.8 in Windows 11
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/on-windows-11
My Test unit is limited to Win 10 at present, but I am still developing in Windows 7.
Tested on Windows 11 and it workt fine and I see I'm running Microsoft.NET Runtime 5.0.10
Thanks for the help, looks like BitDefender firewalled MC recently for some reason, and actually thinking about it more, the reason I installed the new version was that the EXE had disappeared so maybe it failed an AV scan? BD seems happy enough with it at the moment....
F5 does a lot more than look for unscraped series, F7 seems to hang MC, either way I don't think people should be left in the lurch and have to know what to do...

Glad you got it sorted.
F5 is Refresh All, and will find series data that does not have a corresponding entry in the List of Series, and offer to remove it.
F7 searches for series in the List of Series, but not scraped into Media Companion
Both of these give progress in the status bar. And have entries in the MC Wiki
https://sourceforge.net/p/mediacompanion/wiki/MCKeys/
Users are not left in the Lurch, I always recommend going through the Wiki, and if anything is still an issue, Raise a ticket for a fault, or open a topic in Discussions for advise etc.
Correction, F5 shows progress in the status bar F7 doesn't, it takes ages but it wasn't a hang.
