The MComix icon shows up very blurry in various places in the window manager (the Ubuntu 11 dock thingy most noticably). It would be much better if the icon was in SVG format instead of PNG. The clean lines and gradients make it look a lot like it might have been an SVG.
PSD/XCF whatever, if there was a master copy of the image available it would help make it easier for me to make an effort at recreating the image in SVG. (If there is an SVG, I would still do some work to clean it up and remove a lot of the excess markup that tends to get included.)
While I'm on the topic of the program icon I may as well mention a patch against Comix that presents the first image in a file as the program icon.
Cover as window icon (with patch):

Seems like an okay idea but I can't help thinking there might be a problem I'm missing.
(Maybe it's just the obvious flaw that a cover image won't look particularly good or informative at smaller sizes.)
Depending on the dock panel size, the reason might be that MComix used to load only the 16x16 icon, and scaled that appropriately. I've checked in some modifications to load at least 16x16, 32x32 and 48x48.
For the original SVG files: I do not have any, but oxaric might have it.
I'll look into the patch now, as this might be an interesting idea.
For now, I've added an option to to enable/disable using an archive thumbnail as icon, and set it to disabled by default. I assume this feature is most useful in conjunction with a large taskbar (i.e. a screen real-estate killers).
While at it, this also reminded me of that one conversation we had about thinning out the preferences dialog. Maybe I can come up with a few more items that could be moved to "Advanced", so that at least all basic features are in one place, while others can be safely ignored.
