Error appears with jags 4.0.0, jags 4.1.0, and jags 4.2.0 -- works with jags 3.4.0 though.

Works for me.

JAGS 4.0.0 did not run all of John's examples but I tested them all before releasing JAGS 4.1.0, and JAGS 4.2.0 just fixes a few bugs. This runs without a problem for me. Can you show a transcript of your session?

Strangely enough after disinstalling 3.4.0 and re-installing 4.2.0 it worked this time :o

No idea what happened! Really sorry about reporting a bug when there was none !
