Well, I'd start with writing a LoggerMBean and/or AppenderMBean that
exposes the threshold property. Then you'd write a Logger and/or
Appender implementation that implements this MBean and wraps the
default log4j logger/appender. (hint: use composition rather than
extending a concrete log4j class.) Lastly, use those custom loggers
in you log4j config file.
Other than that, I can't offer much. I never wrote an mx4j dashboard,
but since it's just xml, I can't imagine it'd be too tough.
