Indeed one problem for creating .dmsg for Mac OS is that one needs to 
ship wxmaxima and gnuplot with maxima

in the disk image, and this requires tons of libraries to build and run 
them.  In particular wxmaxima may be relatively

easy to build on Linux, but i remember having seen problems in the past 
when i was using Freebsd on my computer,

at least some things not working, like printing.  Maybe all this is 
solved since ages. If the problem was only maxima

it would be trivial to solve because maxima builds very easily, once for 
example sbcl is installed on the machine.
