The nightly Windows installers are build on Ubuntu 20.04, where makeinfo 
6.7 is the default version.

I assume, that 20.04 is still widely used (it is supported until 2025!), 
so *requiring* texinfo 6.8 for Maxima now is maybe too early?

But for the Windows installers I can see, if I can use a more current 
version on the build machine(s).
