Then what I did might have been one step into the right direction. But
it didn't get far enough.

As I cannot test what I do on a mac (at least travis tells me that what
I did can be compiled there) I needed a little bit more time to think
about a second one.

With a little bit of luck the commit I made a few minutes ago to the
wxMaxima repository on github fixes the remaining problem.
