My workaround is manual termwise integrate (extract summand, integrate, ...). Declare
integration to be linear doesn't work--defint thinks all definite integrals of infinite sums
diverge, I think.
(%i6) declare(integrate,linear);
(%o6) done
OK:
(%i7) integrate(sum(x^k/k!,k,0,inf),x);
(%o7) sum(x^(k+1)/((k+1)*k!),k,0,inf)
Bogus error message (integral is convergent for all real z).
(%i8) integrate(sum(x^k/k!,k,0,inf),x,0,z);
defint: integral is divergent.

Let's see -- do you mean declaring integrate to be linear or otherwise
encouraging integrate to distribute over sum?
