This patch is based on the git master branch (Commit [595744]). The detailed infomation is provided in the mailing list (https://sourceforge.net/p/maxima/mailman/message/36947858/) and https://github.com/wspr/breqn/issues/37

Another suggestion is the breqn097a directory (actually the breqn bundle packag 0.97a) in imaxima should be removed. It seems that any new TeX distribution have the latest breqn bundle.

Best,
Jinsong

Would you merge this report with bug 3613, please? I think that the patch here and there are different, and before I move forward it would be helpful to have you merge them. Thanks.

I don't know how to merge them.

The patch here is superior to that in bug 3613. The patch in bug 3613 is a workaround and may be wrong since flexisym package should be load before breqn package according to the document of breqn package.

The patch here is surely correct to solve the bug reported in bug 3613. Thanks.

Ok, I am going to leave both bug reports open for the moment. I am
working on re-writing parts of imaxima, including the way latex packages
are handled, to make it more flexible. I will merge this patch in at
        that time.
