With this adapter you can build Matrex functions that call Octave code.
Good if you want to use in Matrex functions only available in Octave or if you want to use Matrex as graphical front end for Octave.

This is a wrapper to use the JRuby language (http://jruby.sourceforge.net) to write scripts as function templates code in Matrex.
Now you can choose if you want to write the function s code in java, jython or jruby.

With this adapter you can build Matrex functions that call Scilab code.
Good if you want to work with complex calculations in Matrex or if you want to use Matrex as graphical front end for Scilab.

matrexjama is a wrapper for Matrex to use the Jama library (http://math.nist.gov/javanumerics/jama/).
It allows to calculate cholesky, eigenvalue, lu, qr, singularvalue decompositions.

Version RC1 (release candidate 1) will contain:

- bug fixes and new function templates deriving from extensive tests with REAL projects.
- Small new features (already added matrices formatting in the presentations)
- Changes to adapt the desktop model to the client/server framework of version 2.0.

Matrex is a graphical tool to show, organize and calculate big amounts of data. It is the perfect tool for mathematical models and for other statistical, engineering, physical, and generally scientific calculations. Now features in version M2 include 2D and 3D charts, a complex expression parser, timers to schedule function recalculations and a more user friendly GUI.

M2 is currently in development (as you can see in the CVS). New features will be charts, timers, new windows management, complex expressions parser, outline and possibly a plugin to connect to matlab.

The fact that spreadsheets are based on cells makes difficult to share them and distribute the calculations.

Matrex is a spreadsheet alternative based on matrices. In this way multi-threading, projects sharing, client-server architecture and distributed calculations are easy to implement.
