[Matplotlib-users] Event blocking

Hi,

I remember reading quite a while ago that event blocking  (request/reply) was 
on the list of todos.

Is it possible to wait for an event to be fired, i.e. having a function 
request an event and return when it has been emitted.

All examples only show "GUI" actions on events.
