The best approach is probably as you suggest. If we release, perhaps we can find a friendly developer of wxPython with GTK2 who can perhaps help us. I'd agree that it's a significant issue, and I guess that most newer Linux distributions have probably given up on GTK 1.2. I may reconsider whether to try to do a wxPython build linked against GTK2. Debian has a 'fakeroot' utility, which may help me. Regards Jeremy |
