[Matplotlib-users] subplot axis ticks

Hi all,

I'm trying to set the NUMBER of ticks on a subplot axis.
Googling I'm finding only how to set the ticks values...but what if I don't
know them and for visual reasons I would like to have a fixed number of
ticks?
