This has been requested before, and it probably wouldn't be that difficult to implement. If you want to take a crack at it, try making orthographic versions of the functions in mpl_toolkits/mplot3d/proj3d.py. The tricky part will be getting the right projection hooked up, but for now, you could just override the existing functions. Cheers!
