[matplotlib-devel] python 3 fork?

Hi All,

I saw that matplotlib had been ported to python 3 (here), and that the matplotlib-py3 branch was merged back into the main branch.  So I assumed matplotlib was compatible with python 3, and went ahead and tried to use it.  It didn't work.  Is there a different fork which is compatible with python 3?  What happened?
