#11 NT Octave install screws existing Cygwin

The Octave Win32 installer:
octave-windows-2000oct25d.exe
(latest from sourceforge as of 2002-06-18)

Installing this screws any existing Cygwin installation
through registry changes. Need to re-run the cygwin
installer to fix cygwin, but this may screw Octave?

The installer should check whether a version of cygwin
has been installed and honor that.

I'm also confirming this with 2002-09-11a.

The keys in question seem to be

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2

Also uninstall does not seem to be enabled with the installer.
