Looks like that comes from the mode file itself. Here's an example: " ;;; 0blayout.el --- Layout grouping with ease " from https://github.com/etu/0blayout-mode/blob/master/0blayout.el (first line). I'd guess that needs to be added to matlab-mode for it to do this automatically. /Jack On Sun, Apr 10, 2016 at 10:49 AM, Uwe Brauer <ou...@ma...> wrote: > >>> "Jack" == Jack Morrison <Jac...@gm...> writes: > > > All switched over: https://github.com/melpa/melpa/pull/3580 > > Cheers, > > Jack > > Hi Jack > > I just realized that > M-x package-list-package > shows > matlab-mode 20160401.108 installed No description > available. > > > How can I add a small description? > > Thanks > > Uwe > |

It says TAB (translated from <tab>) runs the command matlab-shell-tab, which is an interactive compiled Lisp function in `matlab.el'. It is bound to TAB. (I am using version 3.3.4 without a problem). Could you please delete the version you currently use (or comment out the path of the package). The latest version (3.3.4 can be found in melpa) So if you use GNU emacs >= 24, you could try out adding (require 'package) (add-to-list 'package-archives '("org" . Ok, applied the patch but I had to change the config file slightly: [core] repositoryformatversion = 0 filemode = true bare = false logallrefupdates = true [remote "origin"] # url = git://git.code.sf.net/p/matlab-emacs/src # org setting url = ssh://ou...@gi.../p/matlab-emacs/src fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/* [branch "master"] remote = origin merge = refs/heads/master [remote "github"] url = gi...@gi...:matlab-mode/mirror.git fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/github/* And then indeed: git pull github master git push origin master Worked. I use org. However, it makes sense to use Markdown format for the file, since that's standard procedure on GitHub. If you can learn org, you can definitely learn Markdown. One introduction can be found at Daring Fireball: https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/basics and if you do an Internet search for "GitHub Help Markdown", you'll find information about the "GitHub flavored" variant, though you probably don't need to worry about that. -----Original Message----- From: Torben Knudsen [mailto:tk...@es...] Sent: Monday, March 14, 2016 2:37 AM To: Uwe Brauer <ou...@ma...>; matlab-emacs <mat...@li...> Subject: Re: [Matlab-emacs-discuss] the README file. So I'd say: if we had a huge developer base I would recommend to use a branch, but I doubt then, that someone would test it. So let us be bold and I apply the patch (in the coming days), the beauty about git (and hg) is we can return to the previous state in no time. Maybe I add a tag. Uwe |

Hi, Uwe, Honestly, I wrote the patch as a workaround since the new versions of Matlab no longer emit hotlinks in terminal mode. It works by remapping the emacs debugger keyboard shortcuts to new functions that insert these hotlinks themselves where Matlab used to do so. They are then picked up by emacs-matlab as if they had been emitted by Matlab. I wrote this primarily to be able to keep debugging my Matlab scripts in emacs, since this no longer worked when I installed Matlab2015b. My knowledge of matlab-emacs is however quite superficial, so I cannot confirm whether there are no unintended side effects. I posted it on the mailing list in the hope it could be useful, as several people have reported the same problem.
