I am a relatively new user of MathCast. I have been unable to find the "arc" character that would normally be used over multiple uppercase letters when describing an arc of a circle (a curve over the letters).
The lack of the arc character is one of the differences between the included Equation Editor in Microsoft Office and the "upgrade" MathType as explained in the note I found elsewhere:
"In addition, MathType includes the ability to include a tilde, hat, arc, or harpoon (vector barb) over
more than one character. It also includes cross-out templates for showing cancellation."
There appears to be a unicode character (non-stretchable, I'm sure), as follows: 'ARC' (U+2312).
So, my question, is there an arc character or can someone walk me through adding it?
Thanks,
Charlie

You can add this symbol yourself. You have to edit the file "Known.xml". You can look in the help on "Customizing MathCast". If you run in to trouble, send me an email (tom_chekam@yahoo.com) and I'll do it and send you the updated file.
