I have just started playing with MathCast, and I believe the program has great promise. Unfortunately, when I use an unusual combination of characters, I get an "Equation Error" message. This is handy to help me look for typing errors, but an override option is needed, particularly with the current limited font options ( I downloaded the math fonts, but not all of the characters in there work in the lowlist). I use symbols in unusual ways, and, consequently, I get errors and cannot save my equations. Every vertical bar should not need to be paired with another vertical bar, nor should every left brace need to be paired with a right brace. Perhaps my use of Cyrillic and letters from other alphabets make MathCast unhappy. I do not know the source of the errors, but those are some of my guesses.
I hope more bars for characters will be added in the near future. Also, please make more templates than those found in programs like MathType. If possible, giving the user a tool to construct designer templates will be nice. I am not sure if the tool exists in the area with the groups area or not.
Is the source code in the download package, or do I need to download that separately? I might be able to do some of the things on my wish list and share them.

Sorry for the long delay, I haven't been at home in the past week. Thanks for your compliment. Many times you can make equations appear better by using blocks. You can use blocks around parts of your equation, and that usually helped me make the equations appear correctly. That would fix your "pairing" problem, I believe.
You can add more characters yourself. take a look in the help under customizing mathcast.
Sorry, but I'm currently very busy and I've stopped working on mathcast, I might get back to it in a few months.
The source code is available to download on the site, however you need to set up the environment, and that takes a little time. I could help you if you are still interested contact me at tom_chekam@yahoo.com.
I'll be back at home in a week, so I won't be able to reply until then.
Regards,
Tom
