I'm seeing a hang when building a git checkout from today on both x86 and POWER8. xextract gets stuck on atlas-mmkg.base. Backing out commit a1c13d37c64e ("prefetch seems to work") fixes it.

I think it should be fixed on github now. I've enabled prefetch in the generator, but the search doesn't exercise it yet, so I don't think you'll get any speedup over the released stuff yet . . .
