I really liked the unobtrusive tabbar in 0.4.x as
compared to 0.5. Specifically, the border between the
tab bar and the main window and the borders that
surround each tab are thicker and more noticeable. It
would be awesome if there was a directive to set the
tab bar border's size. I would also like to choose a
separate color for the tab bar borders as opposed to
using the foreground color.
Thanks,

Tab border color will eventually be added.
Border size can be made a compile time option. Will see how
much work that is ...
As for the 0.4.x style tabbar: Use the --with-atab-extra and
--with-atab-radius compile time options to get something
closely resembling 0.4.x style tabbar.

In 0.4.x, if you place the tabbar at the top, the borders
assume the foreground color and look similar to the 0.5.x
version. However, if the tabbar is placed at the bottom the
tab borders and the tabbar border look smaller and are gray
rather than the forground color. I'm not sure why this
occurs but I do prefer it.
NOTE: I have everything transparent.

There's a bug in 0.4.x with the tabbar colors (when you have
it att he bottom). Fixed in 0.5.x

That's not a bug that's a feature to me. ;-)
