Hello Desislav, Sorry for the delay. I haven't been checking this emailing list very often lately. There has been little work on the MatPLC project lately. Most of the work has moved over to http://www.beremiz.org, where the iec compiler from MatPLC was further developed into an IEC 61131-3 graphical development environment. However, the matplc still does have some uses. I myself am using it on some hardware at home. Because of this private use, I have ended up adding some functionalities that I need for myself rather recently. You might therefore want to try my newer version before I try to help you out with any problems you might have. You can find it here: http://www.fe.up.pt/~msousa/mat-2009.10.24-dagoba.0.3.tgz As you can see, I have called this newer version 'dagoba'. At home I am running it on an embedded platform http://www.ic-board.de/product_info.php?info=p75_ICnova-AP7000-Base.html (please tell me if you want a tgz of the MatPLC configured for this platform). It has around 50 general purpose I/Os for which I developed an optically-isolated I/O board. At the moment it is controlling the central heating in my home. More things will be added later as time allows... I have also deleted many things from the MatPLC distribution which were works in progress and never got to a usable state (i.e. were not working), which should make the project look much cleaner. BTW; in the future, please be sure to email me directly, and not only to the list, and be sure to start the email's subject with 'MATPLC:' . I will be more likçey to spot your emails this way. Cheers, Mario. Dear all, I get your email from troubleshooting file in mat-weekly archive. My name is Desislav Todorov and I am assistant professor at the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria.Several years ago we started "Switchgear simulator with SCADA" project based on various hardware and Matplc SCADA software. Now we are ready with hardware and start to develop the SCADA application. As you understand there are different students which are working on project. Be aware it's not string.h but strings.h !! I know. Its what I said in my previous email. I am slowly starting to get my hands on this code base again (since I needed to use it myself), and I expect to release a new version (which supports arrays - already coded) in a couple of months time. It should only take another couple of days to clean up the code for the release, but I can't seem to find the time to spare... I am also planning on integrating the beremiz project (www.beremiz.org) onto the MatPLC (i.e. the code generated by beremiz will work as a MatPLC module), but thi will probably take a little longer. It will let you write programs in SFC (Grafcet), LD and FBD for the MatPLC! Cheers, Mario. |

Thank you Mario. But, I wonder .. why ? On Debian4.0, the MAKE goes without any error, and create iec2cc. But, on Debian5.0, why must I add " #include <string.h> " into source ? Are these directives automatically nested included, aren't they ? Ikeya |

Only now did I see your post. Regarding the Makefile.depend warnings, you can ignore them safely. They are related to the way we use 'make', and do not have any relation to the code itself. The strcasecmp() function is defined in the strings.h library. Please try adding #include <strings.h> to the generate_cc.cc and function_call_param_iterator.cc files. Cheers, Mario. |

Hi Mario! I tried 'make' in logic/iec/. Thw error message is main.cc: In function 'int main(int, char**)': main.cc: 99: error: 'strcmp' was not declared iin this sope make: *** [main.o] error At this point, 'make' stopped, and main.o wasn't made. So, I add '#include <string.h>' in main.cc. This time, the first error disappeared, and main.o was created. But next error concerning string operation occurs in generate_cc.cc. That is generate_cc.cc: 112: error: 'strcasecmp' was not declared iin this sope What is happening ? Ikeya |

Thank you Bruce! Yes, I encountered many warnings saying "..Makefile.depend:No such files or directory" on Debian4.0, and Debian 5.0 too. As you say, on Debian 4.0, I can use 'iec2iec' 'iec2cc' without trouble dispite of compiler's many warnings. But, on Debian5.0, MAKE can't create 'iec2iec' and 'iec2cc'. So, I can't write codes in IEC. Ikeya |

takeshi, I haven't "made" new for awhile. but I can tell you, I've never been able to compile the iec directory. Warnings are that, warnings. I've have alot, even on kernels, and kerenel modules, but they work. As long as they are not fatal, as is the case with the broken iec code. Mario, help me. Why can't I make ? Both on amd64 and i386, make reports error. In /lib/, make reports warning. In /logic/iec, not warning, make stops, and I can't get executable. Versions of each tools are.. make 3.81 flex 2.5.35 bison 2.3 Is this used ? automake 1.9 Ikeya |

In debian5.0, I acquatintd with more compile errors. For example, When I make_ed in matplc/logic/iec Make reports errors as follows. Makefile:59: Makefile.depend: No such file or directory main.cc: In function 'int main(int, char**)': main.cc:99: error: 'strcmp' was not declared in this scope make: *** [main.o] Error 1 Ikeya |

I'm so sorry that I've missed to startup Chaser! I should type 'demo' but typed 'chaser'. When I retried 'dem'o, all went good! Thank you Mario. BTW When I maked matplc library, that is when I maked under /matplc/lib, I got these error messages. Don't they matter ? The Matplc seems to be starting correctly. After getting this error message, try running $matplc -d to confirm that the matplc is up and running. Reading your log files, what seems to be hapening is that the chaser module is being started BEFORE the matplc is setup (look at the time stamps...)! This shouldn't be happening. Are you using an NFS filesystem, where the NFS server and client do not have synchronised clocks? What is your setup? Something really strange is going on here, as the time stamps of the log file include two distinct days, from the same execution of matplc -g? Cheers, Mario.
