#50 Leave the Genre alone

Sorry mate but this program is a complete waste of
time. I went in and set the screen size and moved the
columns around. Went out, cme back in - it had
forgotten them.

Did it again but exited and restarted after doing each
side/column. It remembered.

I went in and chose a directory. It loaded the files.
I set Custom Format to Artist, Album, Track, Title, Year.

The files are such:
Jon Anderson - Olias Of Sunhillow - 1 of 8 - Ocean
Song - [1976].mp3
Jon Anderson - Olias Of Sunhillow - 2 - Sound Out The
Galleon.mp3
Jon Anderson - Olias Of Sunhillow - 3 - Dance Of
Raynart.mp3

I select the files and click Write tags. Nothing happens -
except that the Genre gets turned to Blues.

Blues?? Who said anything about Blues?!!

But in the Artist, Album, Track, Title and Year fields ? ...
Nothing!

What was worse it didn't even say anything about why
it was doing nothing - it just sat there like a dummy.
And so did I, of course.

I had done what seemed "intuitive" and nothing came of
it. I started to get clever doing Remove Tags, Write
v1.1, Write v2.x, doing the files individually, doing them
with my left sock rolled down and muttering dib-dib-dob.
Still nothing.

Ho hum. Now I'm throwing the program in the bin.

The bug form says to give an email address so here's
filter@post.com. Mark your reply (if any) clearly else the

Works fine here and for 90k+ other users? MTT does
remember all window positions etc, u didn't mention what
custom format exactly u used <Artist> - <Album> - <Track> -
<Title> - [Year] like ur first filename? it has to be an exact
match otherwise MTT won't write the tags, so other files with
different filename formats are left alone. Do read the help file
if you are not sure how to use the program...Regards,John G.
