Aloha, I learned in high school geometry that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line (that's all I remember, almost).....I am working in Mason and lost my Apache server. I know you guys are experts in both so can you help? I don't know if the problem is related to mod_perl/Mason or not. Here's the history. 1) I can not start the Apache server, it gives me a "httpd started" but no process is running when examined with "ps -aux", there is no process to kill 2) I rebooted, this did not fix it 3) I reinstalled mod_perl with Apache, this did not fix it. 4) I looked at all my log files, (i.e. /var/log/messages, logs/error_log, etc. without luck spotting anything 5) I deleted all K and S links in my rcX.d files in case there was some kind of conflict with "bin/apachectl start "in the rc.local start script 6) I deleted the "/usr/local/apache/logs/httpd.pid" file because the pid id in the file (814) doesn't exist 7) I tried running strace on a "/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start", here's my output (after a closing salutation). Now there's a lot of Zeros! Can you point me in the right direction or to the user group I need?
