It could be a good workflow to be able to click through the search
previews, to see all of the search results in sequence.
I'm not sure about the best interface to this, perhaps just a single 'next'
button, that shows the first result when first clicked, and then shows
subsequent results afterwards. Possibly the first result should be
previewed automatically, in a similar way to "I feel lucky"?
I'm also not sure where this functionality should live. It needs to be
discoverable and obvious, but I don't know where on the page it should
go.
Another tricky question is whether to offer keyboard shortcuts. I'd
imagine focus would be a big issue, since you don't want textbox typing
to trigger it, or require the user to manually set focus to a window before
using it. As a more obscure feature of Javascript, I'd imagine it'll be a bit
hairy getting that working cross-browser and platform.

I've created a new button that appears below the search box, allowing you to
select the next result to preview. It also goes to the next page of results if
you're on the last link and hit it.
I haven't got the keyboard shortcuts working, there are lots of cross-browser
quirks I'm struggling with. I've checked in commented out code that's
partially working.
I also realized that some method of indicating the current preview link is
needed. I was thinking of making the border around the table holding the
link's snippet visible, by setting the attribute to 1 or 2 rather than 0.

I've added a selection box around the current results. After researching it some
more, I'm still pretty dubious about creating a robust cross-browser key
responder, but I'll keep this open until I have a definite answer.
