I am not sure I completely understand, but if you do a big model with
all the subjects groups etc in the same design, you might run into
this problem if each subject had a different analysis mask from the
single subject SPM models.
I'm afraid I didn't quite understand what you are comparing in the 4
way and the 3 way ANOVAs - could you explain more?
