#7 graphics not working on ubuntu 10.10 x86_64

The game starts normally (graphics and music all ok) up to the main menu. When i select to play any kind of game, the game begins but without showing any graphics at all. The ships appear as text names on a blank screen which can move normally.

I have tested this on a dell 1564 laptop with a shared memory Intel graphics card.

I had the exact same problem using the same machine. The problem occured in Ubuntu and the game also didn't work in the Windows7 (dual-boot).

Is there any output if mars is started in a terminal?
