You can first assume the fastq is Sanger/standard fastq (quality=3Dord=20=

()-33), and then you can plot the quality distribution of reads in =20
the FASTAQ file. If you see there is almost no Q0 qualities, then the =20=

file is Solexa fastq.

Roughly speaking,

sanger quality=3Dord()-33
solexa quality=3Dord()-64

I will add auto-judgement in my future codes.
