There is also a good business case for giving these extensions back to the mapbuilder community. 1. The Mapbuilder community would probably help you write them. 2. The extra functionality will continue to be maintained by the mapbuilder community as Mapbuilder evolves. 3. You should expect to gain mapbuilder developer status which means you should be able to update core mapbuilder functionality to support your changes as they are developed. > * Public Availability means submitting changes back to > the Mapbuilder community Yes. > * Public Availability means that if requested, our > client may submit the modified/extended Javascript code to > any third-parties Yes. > * Those changes will be clearly marked so as to delineate > them from the original Possibly. I'd suspect that we would incorporate your updates into the mapbuilder libraries and hence your updates would look similar to updates from other contributers. > * Here, we would include both the original package, and > a directory full of our changes (if the mapbuilder community > chose not to accept them) Yes. > * If we write our own WMS/Servlet code to respond to > Mapbuilder requests, that code does not need to be released > under the GPL Correct. > * If we use third-party WMS/Servlet code to respond to > Mapbuilder requests, that code does not need to be released > under the GPL Correct. > > Are Cameron Shorter, Mike Adair, Nedjo Rodgers, Tom Kralidis, > and Matthew Perry in agreement with what Raj wrote (plus my > points of clarification)?
