I hope this is the right place to be reporting this.
App version: 5.8.3
Java version: 8 update 141
OS: Windows 10

I have a bunch of RSS feeds from an image hosting website. In the feed display, it shows a small red X instead of the expected image thumbnail for each feed item. The other text and hyperlinks display and work correctly, just not the image thumbnail.

It's not an issue with the feed, as the thumbnails display correctly in other RSS reader programs (I've just tried Makagiga today for the first time, I'm looking for alternatives to the one I'm currently using which is discontinued now)

I tried changing enabling "Load and Show Full Page - Experimental" in the feed properties. After doing that, it shows a small text version of the site's splash page. Normally when you go to the website in a browser, there's a splash page with a big "Enter" button you must click to continue to the site, the first time. Only the first time you load the site in each browser session, it remembers in a cookie until the next time you visit the site. If I click the "Enter" link in Makagiga, I get an "Error. Could not open" popup.

I have a bunch of RSS feeds from an image hosting website.
In the feed display, it shows a small red X instead of the
expected image thumbnail for each feed item. The other text and hyperlinks display and work correctly,
    just not the image thumbnail.

    Hi,
If you can send me that rss feed address,
it would be very helpful. Without it I can't reproduce the issue.

I tried changing enabling "Load and Show Full Page - Experimental" in the feed properties.

Unfortunatelly, currently this options works only with really simple pages.

    Thanks

OK, the example feed was useful...

Thumbnail image URLs were without schema
    (e.g. "//something" instead of "http://something")
which was badly supported by Makagiga.

It will be fixed in v5.8.4 and 5.99 Beta.
