Redirect can show it own button in the toolbar above each message (in the message pane and message tab). It takes up valuable space. For me it would make a lot of sense to combine it with the Forward button making this a drop-down button with a forward and a redirect item.
Maybe it can even become compatible with IdentityChooser??
Hi u/sph,
Can you try attached version if it does what you want?
Onno
Hi Onno,
Thanks. At first, I could not find the new item in the "Forward" button, where I was expecting it. After reading the configuration option I replaced the "Forward" button with the "Forward As" in the message pane and voilà, here it was.
I have to say, adding the "Redirect" item to "Forward As" makes more sense in a logical sense. I also like that it's configurable and there is still the "Redirect" button available for those who want a dedicated button.
The only drawback now is, that I have to decide if I want to forward an email as inline or as attachment (whereas with the old "Forward" button to decision was required in case of forwarding). But at least, now it requires a conscious decision and that is a good thing! ;-)
Thanks!! I believe this is a good step forward and certainly improves the add-on for me!
Thanks.
The only drawback of hiding the redirect menuitems I found is, that when you have selected multiple messages, the Forward As menu is hidden also, so you are left with no Redirect menuitem.
Maybe I'll find a way to fix that, but it's not a big thing I think...
You are right. I don't understand why all the buttons but the Delete button are hidden when selecting multiple messages. I use the Junk button quite often but have to revert to the keyboard shortcut when selecting multiple messages. I believe this is more a Thunderbird bug.
Maybe an additional add-on which shows these buttons when multiple messages are selected?
This is the related bug at Thunderbird's bugzilla: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=523544
