#2 web site managing

Hi,
project : magic (magicmapping)

Im trying to build a website for the project, Ive
tried to upload a new index.html file but it is not
open when i try to open the project home page.
where should i put index.html in order to set it as
the project website.

I have accedently set a password for the website.
I tried removing it by deleting .htaccess and .passwd
and now i only get Forbidden when i try to open the
project website.

Im using putty shell to post index.html from the directory

/home/groups/m/ma/magicmapping/htdocs/index.html

im using the command :
scp index.html
shadi_@shell.sourceforge.net:/home/users/s/sh/shadi_/index.
html

and I get the result:
ssh: connect to host shell.sourceforge.net port 22:
Connection timed out
lost connection
