I am running some hardware (Proxim, Atheros 5212-based PCI card) which I know to suffer from SBP. However, I am running some fairly old mad-wifi drivers (before WPA branch was merged) and it works fine! My drivers are from around May '04. I did try an update in Nov '04, and it made the machine run like a 5MHz 8086. Since this box is a remote server, I'm reluctant to try an update again because little or no progress has been made with this problem. I cannot understand why the developers can't compare code from back then when things worked, and now when things are borked. Surely that would be a fairly obvious and logical solution. |
