Hello, I would like to take part in madwifi or ath5k development. In particular I want to address the issue of compatibility with 2.6.24-22 core since I own one myself I would like to be able to use WiFi. I have some experience with C++ and Linux. I know how to use SVN and familiar with branching, tagging etc. However, I have no experience writing any kind of drivers and I'm no expert in wireless networking. But I am taking a course about wireless networking and familiar with user interface (e.g. selection of network, security settings on router etc.). Of course I understand that I'll have to learn a lot to be able to do useful work, but nevertheless I would like to try. Please guide me where to start? Please do not propose me to work as tester. I am not the kind of person to spend hours using software just to find some bugs. I prefer to do programming and test only my own code. Thank you. P.S. I was redirected into this mailing list from support channel #madwifi<irc://freenode.net/madwifi>in the Freenode network <http://freenode.net/>. Sincerely yours, Byelozyorov Sergiy. |
