Hi, I'm trying to setup a DWL-AG520 as accesspoint for multiple clients. Currently, i'm testing the setup with an IBM Thinkpad T40. Module compiling and loading goes without problems (linux 2.4.27). Then, I managed to configure the card (no encryption of any kind, fixed card to 802.11b mode with `iwpriv ath0 mode 2`): icarus root # iwconfig ath0 ath0 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"myWlan" Mode:Master Frequency:2.437GHz Access Point: FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF Bit Rate:0kb/s Tx-Power:30 dBm Sensitivity=0/3 Retry:off RTS thr=250 B Fragment thr:off Encryption key:off Power Management:off Link Quality:0/94 Signal level:-95 dBm Noise level:-95 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 The notebook (IBM Connectionmanager) perfectly finds the WLAN. Logging on goes well too (using static IP config). However, when I try to send data (icmp, tcp, udp) i experience a packet loss of about 95%. Also, iwconfig shows this (highly increase of 'invalid misc' packets): Rx invalid nwid:3 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:86 Invalid misc:598 Missed beacon:0 Link Quality stays 0, sometimes climbs to 5 or 6. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks, Emiel Mols |
