I just upgraded my FC2 to kernel 2.6.8.1, and applied the madwifi patch at: http://users.informatik.haw-hamburg.de/~gropp_v/madwifi-2.6.8_and_-mm-040821.patch.bz2 I used this version since this mailing list had a post recommending it for FC2, though I notice there are about 6 versions of patches for this problem. Anyway, it compiled clean, but I get a segfault on modprobe ath_pci: $ modprobe wlan $ modprobe ath_hal $ modprobe ath_pci Segmentation fault I tried to reboot, but now the machine won't boot at all. It segfaults on trying to activate ath0, and then later it hangs while trying to start CUPS. It's never hung before on CUPS, so my guess is the wifi drivers are causing this. Is there a fix for this segfault? Or, should I just try a different version of the patch? Which one is best? -jr |
