Sending this to primarily to get the list activated. For now, this is the only list. This project is primarily for fun and education. The first thing on my "education" list is to learn how to register for messages from the kernel and the window manager on a Mac. That will make it possible to build unusual productivity tools. The first thing on my "fun" list for the mactivity daemon is to rewrite the camera bit. Alternately, if I find good open source code that I can understand, then I'll interface with that The productivity avenue is an interesting one, so I thought I would mention that. At the risk of sounding repetitive, first and foremost, this project is for fun and education. However, I do have some thoughts on making it useful. I want a computer program to give me a detailed report on my behavior. How much time do I spend reading, writing, e-mailing lists like this, or working in a tool that matters. My time is valuable. An on-line bank will give me a tool that will monitor every transaction I have ever made, categorize it, and graph it for me so that I can improve my spending habits. Why not do that with my time? -- -Rich http://rbodo.blogspot.com http://www.linkedin.com/in/complete Cell: 650-283-6037 Work: 650-488-4376 Skype: richbodo irc: irc.freenode.net, icltlfatppl Yahoo IM: rsb_mv |
