I switched to grub because lilo didn't seem to handle any input at all but it still doesn't work all the time, whether I have an external keyboard or not. On a related topic, even after startup some key presses are ignored. This only seems to happen in X. When I change window focus my next 2 key presses are ignored. Very annoying. Not sure whether it's hardware related. > 2) On boot, I get these messages: > VFS: Cannot open root device "803" or unknown-block(8,3) > Please append a correct "root=" boot option > Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs, etc. > I would think there is something wrong with the partition table or the > initrd if this was systematic, but it isn't. I thought it was something to do with suspend2 since I usually get a warning saying (more or less) "suspend=/dev/sda4 can't be found, press space to reboot or C to continue". If I continue I immediately get a kernel panic as you describe. A reboot always works fine. No ideas at the moment. Regards, -- Carl |
