Thanks for working on MacPAF! I look forward to it. Let us know when it's nearing testing phase, I would be happy to test it for you.

Do you have any time frame of when a beta version will be avaiable for testing?

I've tried just about every genealogy program available on both the Mac and PC platforms over the years and have not found any of them come close for ease of use as the old PAF program. It appears that the new MacPAF program is being designed on the same lines so I'm eagerly awaiting for it to become available.

I am fairly confident I will have an alpha/beta test version ready for people to play around with sometime during the Christmas holidays (2005).

I am really looking forward to seeing this software also. I use Family Tree Maker for Mac that hasn't seen an update since I bought it several years ago. I really like the simplicity of MacPAF, and don't need some of the extras of FTM. I'm more interested in organization and a reasonable price. Some people like to make scrapbook and novelty stuff with these Gen programs, but I'd rather do all that stuff off of the computer. A simple photo or two along with a person's data would be sufficient.

I also have an older friend who is still using the original program on his iMac, and he refuses to change. I forwarded him a screen shot, and he is very interested in your MacPAF. He likes that everything is simple and easy to read and looks the same. He uses the RIN numbers a lot when helping people who visit the genealogy guild (he's a volunteer there). He likes everything in larger type, so it's easier for him to see and read. So, if there are options to set the font size that would be a plus, otherwise his screen resolution will probably do the job.

Both of us are using Panther, so we hope you have good luck fixing the bugs, and look forward to using it. Thanks for the effort and good work.

I am a past user of the PAF for PC and was heartbroken when my old PC went belly up and I lost this application (the data, however was saved..whew).  Imagine my surprise when I went to Family Search and found that only the PC version was still available, but now I had a marvelous mac.  What to do?  I have been searching for a similar program in mac, but my searched ended when, today, I found this site.  How wonderful that macs are not totally forgotten!

Please tell me how I might download a copy, what link to follow, etc. so that I can once more (after many years) work with all my family's data.

    Thank you!!!
