There are some known issues with quakeworld demos at this time (playing demos created with win/dos quake will crash the mac app as well).

Nothing has been changed or added, just not fixed or done properly in the first place. The problem may be related to a missed byte swap (other endian issues were found and fixed in the quakeworld source, so more may still exist) or it may be a problem with the way time is kept. [snip]
