    Hi.

When I try to launch Carmageddon 2 in 3dfx mode, I get kernel panics.

My system is a single 1.8 GHz G5, 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9600XT (128 MB VRAM).

The video settings screen of Carmageddon appears, but when I click 'ok', the screen goes black and my system panics.

      [Edit]

The kernel panics were obviously related to setting MacGlide to a higher resolution (following the instructions of the readme file).

However, now Carmadeggon crashes on startup, killing Classic as well. It crashes when the splash screen of the game appears (I can see something on the upper part of the screen).

Hmm, hard to tell what's going on. I can't really believe that too large screen resolutions produce kernel panics. But if it happened, there must be something wrong.

I would recomment installing another MacOS9 system folder, install MacGLide to that folder and try again. If that doesn't work out, you should do a fresh install of of Carma2.

There's also a change of having the original 3dfx library still installed. Did you use your system folder with original 3Dfx-hardware? Maybe the library is not replaced correctly.

      Regards, Jens

      Hi.

It's me again (WOW. One year later...).

I stumbled across my Carmageddon CD-ROM today, so I thought I'd see if there are some news on MacGlide.
I just downloaded the latest 0.13a2 and installed it. At first I had the same kernel panics again. Then I edited the Default config file of MacGlide, selecting window mode. Carmageddon now launches until it reaches the maini menu (that green background with the boxes). However, no text/clickable items and the game then freezes, crashing Classic as well (similar to what I experiened before).

Now, I double-checked if there are any old 3Dfx components in my system folder, but I couldn't find any. I guess I'll try to re-install Classic. I just thought I'd share that the same error is still there with the 0.13a2.

Ok. Still no luck. Reinstalling Classic and tweaking the MacGlide settings got me so far that sometimes - only sometimes - I can actually see Caramgeddons menu. When I click on something, it crashes, though.
Also, the colors are all weird. So something with the Glide settings must still be incorrect.

      I've attached the log file.
