every time i enter new prefs, the app forgets 'em. very annoying, cause i try to use it 'professionally, so avaiding dynamic compression etc...

What operating system are you using?
There may be a corrupt preferences file... Try deleting "mAC3dec Preferences" (and "mAC3dec.plist" on OS X).
