Hello! I am having a serious problem with this
programme:

Any decoding work I do using this product on my
G4 966mhz results in a file filled with clicks and
pops, whether I use Mp3 or AIFF as the end result.
It also doesn't make a difference whether I
downsample to 44.1 or leave it at 48.0. I am not
sure if PCM would result in the same clicks, since I
am not sure how to play back PCM files.

The AC3 files play fine as AC3 files, and I can
convert them to .wav using Virtual PC and an
AC3->Wav convertor, which results in perfect
sound quality. The big downside of that solution is
the length of time it takes to decode in emulation.

I am running MacOS 9.2, with 256mb ram and lots
of drive space.

I would be happy to be contacted to assist you in
quashing this potentially disastrous bug.

I made the same observation. What helped in my case
was to disable the use of Altivec in the preferences
    dialog.

    disable the altivec option.
the ac3 get clicked and popped with it.
on my dual g4 the same shit happened.
now i disabled altivec and the sound is ok
    no matter what sample rate.

Thanks for the tips, unchecking Altivec in the prefs fixed the pops for me too. G4 Dual-450 768Mb 10.2.2

I have the same problem on my dual-1GHz G4, MacOs 9.2.2,
1.5GB RAM. It really makes the program unusable. The pops
seem to be worse when downsampling to 44.1KHz.
