#2 Crash when splitting files

I have tried decoding split split files several times,
but I keep gettign "Application Unexpectadly Quit. . .
."

Decodes stereo just fine. I have tried both AIFF
and PCM at 44.1 at 48K. I am running a 733 G4
under 9.2.2.

Any Ideas?

Same problem, perhaps. And only sometimes. My problem
might be that I don't understand the underlying technology
well enough to know whether or not I'm "splitting" files.
What I *do* know is that I have AC3 files and I use this
software to convert those files into AIFF files.
Fortunately, it worked perfectly the first time I tried it
and I was thrilled. Then I went on to the next file and got
the crash. Tried it several times before deciding that
there was likely a problem with the AC3 file that came from
the VOB. Recreated the AC3 file and had the same problem,
so I tried the same file I had previously converted and it
still crashed. Frustrated, I rebooted.

After the reboot, I went on to the next file with no
problem. Figured there was some big memory leak problem or
something and was unhappy with my workaround, but at least I
had one. As expected, after converting one file, I had the
crash again. I rebooted again, and was surprised (not my
only emotion) when it crashed on my first try after the reboot.

At this point, it seems to be a crapshoot. I can't find any
correlation between disk space, free memory, etc, and when
it does or does not work. Really concerned.

Like a moron, I neglected to provide some key information:

PowerBook G4 550MHz with 512 MB of RAM
~2GB of free disk space, when not doing DVD conversion
projects. So I'm doing one VOB at a time and basically
dealing with hundreds of megs of free space, but I'm
conscious that I need at least enough disk space to do the
conversions that I'm trying to do.
