Hello, I tried the branches/m5602 driver - This makes skype as well as livecam to work properly, with full picture and sufficient color, but other programs only show a portion (about 1/8) of the picture in black and white (like amsn) or they do not produce picture (xawtv). Xawtv reports : This is xawtv-3.95.dfsg.1, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.24-19-generic) xinerama 0: 1280x800+0+0 /dev/video0 [v4l2]: no overlay support v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-ledfixed-medium-r-*--39-*-*-*-c-*-*-*" to type FontStruct ioctl: VIDIOC_G_STD(std=0xb787a1c0b7d70450 [PAL_I,PAL_D1,PAL_Nc,SECAM_B,SECAM_D,SECAM_G,SECAM_K,SECAM_L,?ATSC_8_VSB,ATSC_16_VSB,(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null),(null)]): Invalid argument ioctl: VIDIOC_S_STD(std=0x0 []): Invalid argument game over If I try branches/m5602-s5k4aa then livecam works Ok, but skype, amsn, xawtv (and I guess everything that has to do with libv4l-0.5.0 ) make my (Ubuntu 8.04) system hang. When this happens, my Caps Lock led blinks and my screen is frozen. Since s5k4aa should be the right branch to use, I'd like to report that in the above cases the general m5602 branch works much better! Angelos |
